Ivano is a senior researcher at INRIM. His work concerns quantum optics and the experimental use of non-classical states of light for quantum metrology schemes such as quantum imaging, sensing and quantum radiometry. His main contributions to the field are the realization of sub-shot-noise quantum imaging and of quantum-enhanced target detection scheme immune to noise. Recently, he is interested in the technological development of new quantum approach to super-resolution microscopy and experimental proof of quantum reading and quantum channel discrimination. He is organizer of the international conference in quantum optics and technologies ‘QUANTUMXX’
