Gabriele Zanelli received his Master's Degree in Materials Science from the University of Torino in July 2022. His thesis work was focused on the fabrication and activation of optically active defects in silicon carbide via pulsed laser processing.

In November 2022 he started his Ph. D in Physics at INRiM and the University of Torino. His research focuses on quantum sensing with color centers in diamond
