Fabio Picariello received his Physics degree summa cum laude from the University of Turin in October 2020. His thesis work relied on the fabrication and characterization of superficial graphitic electrodes in artificial diamond in order to stimulate electroluminescence from optically-active color centers. During his thesis work, he also examined the possibility of performing ODMR measurements with NV centers exploiting a sub-superficial graphitic channel as an MW antenna.

He started his Ph.D. in Metrology at INRiM in November 2020, joining the quantum optics group. His current research relies on super-resolution microscopy via structured illumination and quantum correlation.
